Yeah, no flats = no customary!
A typical logic for young Singaporean couples. We are no different.
Too bad we gotta make some twist along the way, our new flat won't be ready so soon, in the end we transformed one of the room at mum's place... into our temporary love nest MBR, just for the sake of "getting ready" for the customary...
We spent about 2.6K doing up the small room. DIY painting, installation of shelfing and LCD TV, bedsheets, etc
The final outcome is something simple but yet cosy. A different shades filled the room each month...

3D Models and ID
It was never an easy task to visualise how the new flat would look like by just looking at the floorplan...
A typical layout of the furniture was given by HDB... seemed rather straightforward? But it is still tough to visual on a 2D plan
We decided to create a 3D modelling of our new unit... works began in Feb 2010 when Hwee found a nice little application that does simple 3D modelling and rendering...
After months of going through tons of magazines and websites for ideas... we marked all the nice ideas referencing against what we wanted... bits & pieces we produce this:
Next we will share some close-up working pictures of the entire house, looks cool but it had not been render for a more photo-like pictures yet... just the working view:
A close-up view of the Planterbed (with handsome and beauty standing there... Ha) |
South West view - Bed Rooms and Planterbed |
West view - Master Bed Room |
North view - Air-con ledge and Service yard |
Here's a walk through to some of the interiors of the house:
A rough idea of the study room, a few other designs still flowing in our head... this is just for rendering sake so a temporary rough design... |
Hwee had always wanted to apply wall stickers to our new house, wall paper seemed outdated nowadays? We wanted a blast-up print of photos that we had taken... it is more personalized, so this idea came and we are still trying out all the different visuals.
A striking green of a fun casual wedding photo of us (blend in with the greenery planterbed next to the living room?) |
Or shall we change it to sepia? |
